A Tribute To My
Personal Heroes
My Grandparents
|
There are very few people in your every day life that can be called personal heroes. The classical definition is someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty. In my life that would be Beatrice Lucille Redman-Marshall and Lewis Benjamin Marshall, my paternal grandparents. No matter what they did or said, my brother and sister and myself where number one in their lives. Most everyone thinks that their grandparents are the best in the world, and they would be right as it is in the eye of the beholder. But to me my grandparents couldn't have been better for me and my family if they tried. They made sacrifice after sacrifice, spoiled us beyond compare but at the same time kept us somewhat grounded in a ever changing world. Anyone who knew this couple knew greatness in human form. They had flaws but they also were angels in disguise. Now, I am not a religious person, but if I was, I would thank God every day for giving me the unique opportunity to have had the grandparents I had. And if I could tell them one more thing now that they are gone...I would say just a simple thank you and I love you because they made me the woman I am today because of their guidance and love. |
